Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 August 2026
1. Nature of the service
RTI Online Portal is a private third-party assistance service. We are NOT the Government of India and NOT affiliated with rtionline.gov.in. Free official filing is available directly at rtionline.gov.in. We provide drafting, consultation and filing assistance only. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal representation.
2. What you get
Depending on the plan purchased: a manually drafted RTI application in PDF form, a telephonic consultation, and/or filing of the application with the concerned public authority along with tracking and deadline monitoring. All drafts are prepared by our staff; we do not use AI to generate your application.
3. Your responsibilities
You must provide accurate facts, a correct postal address and truthful applicant details. An RTI application under the Right to Information Act, 2005 can only be filed by a citizen of India. We are not responsible for rejection caused by inaccurate information supplied by you.
4. No guarantee of outcome
We cannot guarantee that a public authority will supply the information sought, or that it will respond within the statutory period. Our obligation is limited to correct drafting and, where purchased, timely filing and tracking.
5. Fees and statutory charges
Our fees are service charges only. The statutory RTI fee, photocopy charges, postal charges and any appeal fee are payable to the public authority and are additional. Filing free of any service charge is possible directly at rtionline.gov.in.
6. Refunds
A full refund is available if you cancel before drafting begins. Once a draft has been shared for your approval, fees for the drafting component are non-refundable. If we fail to file within the promised timeline on the Full Filing plan, the filing component is refunded.
7. Consultation calls
Consultation calls are scheduled at a slot you select and last up to 30 minutes. Missed calls may be rescheduled once at no charge.
8. Data protection
Personal data is processed with your consent under the DPDP Act, 2023 and retained for 24 months. See the Privacy Policy for details and your deletion rights.
9. Prohibited use
You may not use the service to harass an individual, to seek personal information exempt under Section 8 of the Act, or for any unlawful purpose. We may decline a request and refund the fee.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of courts at our registered place of business.
