Who we are
RTI Online Portal is a private third-party assistance service. We are NOT the Government of India and NOT affiliated with rtionline.gov.in. Free official filing is available directly at rtionline.gov.in.
We act as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 for the personal data you share with us.
What we collect
Identity and contact data: name, postal address, email and mobile number — required because an RTI application under Section 6(1) must carry the applicant's details.
Case data: your description of the issue, the department concerned and the questions you want asked.
Transaction data: payment reference and plan purchased. Card and UPI details are handled by our payment gateway and never stored by us.
How we use it
To draft your RTI application manually, to file it with the public authority if you purchase the Full Filing plan, to schedule consultation calls, and to send you status updates.
We do not sell, rent or share your data with advertisers, and we do not use your data to train any AI system.
Consent
You give explicit consent at signup and again before payment. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by writing to us, although we cannot recall an application already filed with a public authority.
Security
Applicant contact details and case descriptions are stored encrypted at rest. Access is limited to the drafting and filing staff assigned to your file.
Data retention notice
Application records are retained for 24 months from the date of delivery or filing, so that we can support a First Appeal or second appeal if needed. After that period records are deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
You may request deletion earlier, or a copy of your data, by writing to privacy@rtionline.online. We respond within 30 days.
Grievances
Our Grievance Officer can be reached at help@rtionline.online. If unsatisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
